The Wyld is concerned with the business of survivors. The world is a cruel, indifferent, and indiscriminate place. Even the most privileged are one bad day away from being in dire straits. One wrong word, to the wrong person, at the wrong time. It takes so very little for the world to see what you have and to strip it all away from you. Very few people consider what comes after.We are concerned with that "after". Our operations... track the movement of criminals who might cause that irreparable damage. We disrupt those networks. We relocate the victims. And we ensure that they will not be found. As a euphemism, we could perhaps call it... social work. Our purpose is to find those in need, remove the factors that are causing them to be unsafe, and to provide them with housing and stability. Sometimes, I have heard others call our work witness protection. Either way, the result is the same.You cannot undo what has been done unto you. But perhaps, you can save someone else.

That, we cannot tell you as of now. That is information you will have to earn over time. Through gaining trust. We have to know what sort you are. How to... assess you correctly. Only those with particular values and morals can be permitted, you see.

A SUPPLIER'S JOB IS A LITTLE MORE...

Sometimes, the need arises to far more directly meet the needs of the population we serve. When we cannot find safety, we must instead create it. This involves the construction and maintenance of safe houses, transportation infrastructure, and more. It's hard work, but it's necessary.Even at the surface level, still, suppliers require... discretion. We can't let just anyone know what we're doing. We'd be traced. It would endanger every one of the people we serve.

BROKERS ARE GOOD LISTENERS - AND DON'T TALK.

Correct. No matter what threat you're under - we can't afford if you break. Brokers gather information by engaging in parts of the criminal underworld and using what they hear against those networks. We have a need to... keep track of their movements. You don't have to be concerned about to what end, at least. Be someone trustworthy - get them to let down their guard enough to admit to you what they're doing.

Put some faith into us. We are more than prepared to hide you from our targets, as well - to relocate you, or to place you in a safe location until the threat passes. There are safeguards in place; rest assured that we don't want to risk losing such a valuable asset.

CONNECTIONS ARE CRUCIAL.

Liaisons make everyone's life easier. Not every criminal on the star deals in the trade of bodies. Rather... some who don't would much prefer that their competitors who do are... out of the way. Liaisons must be cautious not to say too much. We don't want the information about what we do being given to anyone who wouldn't protect it.

More or less, yes. We do not have a limited area of operations, nor can we possibly hire enough information brokers to cover the entire star. We must make use of existing criminal networks - to form connections and find allies who can provide us the information that we need to continue our operations. Even if that means getting our hands a little dirty.

YOU WOULDN'T BE FAR REMOVED FROM A TRAFFICKER.

That, I do. Your role would be more particular. Once our hunters pass through a target location, you come in after. Someone... trustworthy. Someone driven. Someone who won't leave anyone behind, who would never kill someone, even to alleviate their suffering. Those who work in Retrieval come in once the threat is gone, find the victims of those who we hunt, and pull them out. You must be able to work in a limited time frame, and in tandem with others. They will be afraid. Some will fight you. Not all of them will want to go somewhere better, as broken as they are. You will have to be strong... and to trust that the first step to recovery is to live.Once you have them, then you must get out. Guide them elsewhere - for rehabilitation or relocation. This comes with its own challenges - we are not far off from being conflated with the thing we fight against. Transport of individuals who may not belong where they are is still a criminal act. You must be quick on your feet, and more than a little charismatic.

WE'RE... PARTICULAR WITH TARGETS.

Traffickers. Heads of criminal networks. Hunters that belong to other organizations, even. Hunters are our blade. Part of the job, when it comes to the location and retrieval of the hurt, is to... take care of those who caused that pain to begin with. Can't have them hunting down our clientele, after all. If you can take up a weapon and point it in the right direction, then we have need of you. Just needs some... discretion. Try not to leave a mess that can lead back to us.There is some flexibility for style, as well. Some prefer to rush in guns blazing and take out every witness. Others prefer more subtlety. So long as the job gets done, you don't get caught, and you clear the way for Retrieval, then I'm not picky.
